How do you deburr steel and stainless steel parts faster, and still achieve a clean finish?
This was exactly the question facing Schatzdorfer Gerätebau GmbH. With the investment in a new fibre laser flatbed system, not only was the cutting process accelerated, but the entire deburring process was fundamentally rethought. The goal was to increase both quality and efficiency.

It wasn’t until the purchase of the ARKU EdgeBreaker® 6000 deburring machine that Schatzdorfer was able to consistently take this step. Since then, around half of all steel and stainless steel parts are deburred reliably and consistently.
Previously, we didn’t deburr steel parts, now we do. Despite the additional process step, we’re working efficiently because our cutting speed is 50–60% faster, explains Josef Steinbichler, Operations Manager at Schatzdorfer.

Designed specifically for contract manufacturers
The quick-change system for the processing units significantly reduces setup times, a major advantage when frequently switching materials. Even though the number of parts being deburred has increased, the company is overall more efficient than before, thanks to the machine.
We can now offer a defined edge radius, that wasn’t possible before. Josef Steinbichler, Operations Manager at Schatzdorfer

Noticeable relief in everyday operations
The new system increases throughput and eliminates the need for manual pre-grinding, a task that was previously very unpleasant for employees. In addition, the controls are user-friendly, so training requirements are virtually eliminated despite frequent changeovers.
