Longitudinal welding technology extends the boundaries of lamination, producing long and wide plates that surpass traditional limitations.
This innovative technology welds together two long plates of any steel type, including ultra-high-strength steel, creating wider plates for the market. The weld maintains the mechanical characteristics of the original material or enhances them with minimal aesthetic impact.
Capable of joining sheets of different materials and thicknesses up to 15 meters in length, LWL finds applications in longitudinal welding of high-mechanical-property sheets, such as high-resistance steel sheets. To ensure quality, pre and post-heating systems with cooling curve control are employed to limit hardness in the molten and thermally altered areas.
